went to biz sch commencement dinner at pan pacific last night... at first i really don't wanna to go as the day before i have a presentation till really late... however my colleagues pointed out that for the past 20years or so.. the dean's office has never extended invitation to departments and we are the ones doing most of the workk so we should not miss it.. so... despite i'm really tired till i can fall asleep anywhere.... i still went...
guess what's my critics for Pan Pacific Hotel (Singapore)....
1) the main entrance and the ballroom are really far apart... and it's in a really 'wu lu' area...
2) washroom is made up of aluminum and glass... =.=
3) the ballroom is really small
4) the services is NOT up to standard
5) the food.... thanks.. but i will only consider to try again when all other hotels are fully booked.
let me do some explanations here...
1) we have to walk a distance from the ballroom to the entrance and you can hardly find the ballroom unless you looked out for "road signs" (if any) carefully..... plus if you are unable to move around easily and needed some equipments to aid your steps... please be careful as the route to the ballroom is not very handicap friendly.
2) first time i go a hotel that has big aluminum door for every single thing inside except the glass. even the partion is made up of aluminum and glass... if you are not prepared, you may get a fight easily... plus i kept wondering whether i step into another place or sth.. okie.. i know they are trying to be unique but... it's just not.. right...
3) we have really a number of tables there and they just squeeze everyone together..
4) service there...... OH PLEASE!!! can you imagine they actually mess up the serving tables and every other things.. and instead of placing the soup properly on your table.. they half threw the bowl in front of you... half of the time they were serving.. i was thinking what to do in case the dishes got on to me... and the food was not serve as a full table... some of my colleagues have to wait really long for their share to be given to them. during the part they were serving desserts... please.... regardless how many times we highlighted to them that we still short of some plates.... in the end... one of my colleagues had to go over to another table to "steal" food .. haha...
5) 1 word will explain... MSG!!!!!! I bet they got MSG at really good price as they are really generous on adding into all their dishes...

Tea-smoked Chicken Breast and Mango Salad with Sesame Dressing
Really nice soft bread with excellent butter (the best dish of the night!)
Fiery Plum Tomato with Cumin-flavored Soup with Garlic Crouton
Pan-Grilled free-range Chicken Breast on Scallion Mash laced with a Cracked Black Pepper Glaze (I choose this one and i really not regreting!)
Pan-Roasted Dory Fillet on a bed of Oritental Vegetables laced with a light Champagne Cream
White Chocolate Citrus Roulade with Orange Sauce + Tea (As a dessert lover.. i rank this dessert 'LOW'.)
Tiramisu (I sincerely dunno the 'beautiful' name for this as i basically "stole" it from the MBA dinner.. hee.. their is much more fun... plus this dessert is really really good especially with Red Wine!)
